TPD Arrests Convicted Felon For Possession of Two Stolen Firearms

On Saturday, October 5, 2019 at approximately 2:00 a.m., Tallahassee Police officers were conducting proactive patrol to address citizen complaints of criminal activity in the area of West Tennessee Street and North Copeland Street. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on West Tennessee Street with no lights on and weaving in heavy traffic. After the vehicle stopped, officers were speaking with the driver of the vehicle, Antoinido Joseph, and developed probable cause to arrest him for driving under the influence (DUI). During the arrest, a 9mm handgun was located under his clothing. During the search of Mr. Joseph’s vehicle, another 9mm handgun was located inside. Both firearms had been previously reported stolen to TPD in 2015 and 2017. Other items in the vehicle included several containers of open and unopened alcohol.
Mr. Joseph, a Florida Convicted Felon, was arrested for DUI and charges related to the guns. Mr. Joseph was transported to the Leon County Detention Facility for processing.

- Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon pursuant to Florida Statute 790.23(1)(a).
- Carrying a Concealed Firearm While Unlicensed pursuant to Florida Statute 790.01(2).
- 2 Counts- Grand Theft of a Firearm pursuant to Florida Statute 812.014(2)(c)5.
- Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs pursuant to Florida Statute 316.193(1).
