Tallahassee Police Make Arrest in Attempted Homicide Case
September 23, 2022
Today, Sept. 22, the Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) arrested one person following a shooting that occurred on Sept. 21 just before 7:30 p.m. in the 2700 block of Pecan Road.
Following a swift and thorough investigation by TPD's Violent Crimes Unit, it was determined a vehicle with five female occupants was attempting to leave an apartment complex in the area, and male subjects were blocking the roadway. The driver of the vehicle attempted to go around the individuals; they made it a short distance before the suspect pulled out a gun and fired multiple rounds at the vehicle. One passenger, an adult female, was struck and sustained serious injuries as a result of the shooting. Preliminary findings determine the suspect and the victims were not known to each other.
The subsequent investigation collected physical evidence and, with the assistance of witnesses, helped detectives identify the suspect and develop probable cause for an arrest.
This arrest is a testament to TPD's tireless efforts and dedication to bring justice to the victims in this case. If you see something, say something. Report criminal activity by calling TPD at 850-891-4200. You can also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 850-574-TIPS.
