City’s Splash & Jam Program Provides Safe Summer Fun

The City of Tallahassee invites all area youth to join them every Friday this summer for the 7th season of Splash & Jam, which offers local families and teens free, safe alternatives for late night summer fun.
This year’s Splash & Jam program will feature a family-style pool party – “the splash” – from 7-9 p.m. There will be pool games, food and music. As there is not a pool at the Palmer Munroe Teen Center, there will be water activities from 7-9 p.m.
After the splash, teens will be invited to “jam” inside the community centers at themed events. The teen parties will take place from 9-11 p.m. and are designed for middle and high school youth. Teen parties will have food and music from a deejay. Socks are required for skate nights.
Splash & Jam events begin this Friday, June 8, and take place every Friday through August 10 (except July 6). Below is a full schedule of this year’s events:
- June 8 at the Walker-Ford Community Center, 2301 Pasco Street. Teen activity theme is Dance Party.
- June 15 at the Lawrence-Gregory Community Center, 1115 Dade Street. Teen activity theme is Skate and Game Night.
- June 22 at the Jack McLean Community Center, 700 Paul Russell Road. Teen activity theme is Dance Party.
- June 29 at the Palmer Munroe Teen Center,1900 Jackson Bluff Road. Teen activity theme Bounce Houses and Games.
- July 13 at Walker-Ford. Teen activity theme is Skate Night.
- July 20 at Lawrence-Gregory. Teen activity theme is Dance Party.
- July 27 at Jack McLean. Teen activity theme is Skate Night.
- August 3 at Lawrence-Gregory. Teen activity theme is Skate and Game Night.
- August 10 at Walker-Ford. Teen activity theme is Skate Night.
Each event will be monitored by adult chaperones, City staff and police officers.
