Two Arrests Made and Three Firearms Seized During Traffic Stop by TPD

At approximately 1:30 a.m. this morning, TPD Patrol Officers responded to a call regarding a two males shooting a handgun into the air at the Circle K located at 1848 Capital Circle Northeast. Citizens who witnessed the incident provided a very good description of the males and the vehicle involved which was a red Kia Soul. Responding officers quickly located the suspects and performed a traffic stop on the vehicle. An extensive on-scene investigation was conducted by officers resulting in the arrest of Jonquaris Richardson and Mon'tavious Bruce for firearms related offenses. During the officers' contact with Mr. Richardson and Mr. Bruce, they located three 9mm handguns inside the vehicle. One of the handguns had been previously reported stolen to TPD on March 18, 2018, during a vehicle burglary on Nabb Loop.
The firearms were impounded at the Tallahassee Police Department as evidence. Mr. Richardson and Mr. Bruce were transported to the Leon County Receiving Facility for processing.
The case has been assigned to investigators from the Joint Property Crimes Task Force.
