TPD Arrests Carjacking Suspect

Quick action by officers on patrol resulted in the arrest of a male for armed carjacking after a brief vehicle pursuit. The Tallahassee Police Department arrested Broddrick Williams, for an armed carjacking which occurred this morning at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Melvin Street. The victim reported they were robbed at gunpoint by a male matching the description of Mr. Williams, who took their vehicle.
The stolen vehicle was immediately spotted by an officer in the area of Wahnish Way and FAMU Way and a traffic stop was initiated but unsuccessful. The suspect fled from officers in the victim’s stolen vehicle to the area of Parkridge Drive and Ryco Drive where the vehicle attempted to negotiate a curve but lost control and crashed into a utility pole. The suspect ran from the crash but was ultimately located by officers and arrested.
Mr. Williams was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released for a minor injury sustained during the traffic crash. Officers transported Mr. Williams to the Juvenile Assessment Center for processing of current charges by the Tallahassee Police Department and other charges including warrants for his arrest.

Warrant for Petit Theft pursuant to Florida Statute 812.014(2)(e).
