TPD Promotes Online Reporting Program
March 19, 2020
TPD is doing our part to practice social distancing and asking the public to consider online reporting from a computer or mobile device. Of course, not all crimes can be reported this way and we want citizens to call us if they need immediate assistance or in case of emergency. If the incident can be reported online, we offer the service at https://www.talgov.com/publicsafety/tpd-onlinereporting.aspx or on mobile devices using the DigiTally app.
*The online report is free of charge. A temporary case number will be e-mailed to the complainant immediately and a permanent case number will follow in a few days.
*Online reporting offers a way to submit and print a non-emergency report in a convenient and timely manner.
*The cases are reviewed by our Criminal Investigation Bureau and assigned to an investigator if the criteria are met.
HERE ARE THE INCIDENTS YOU CAN REPORT ONLINE:
- Forgery or Use of Fraudulent Documents
- Fraudulent Use of Credit/Debit Cards
- Harassing Phone Calls/Text/E-Mails
- Identity Theft
